War to end all wars

Remembrance/Veteran's day exists for a reason.

I decided to major in history to start teaching all the numbskulls of society that we really havn't changed one bit since we started walking upright hundreds thousands of years ago. We have bigger shinier weapons, even gotten off our planet, and still wage war over the same simple things we did before; food, land, women, and too often pride.

As much as I generally hate humanity, the men and women who chose to serve their nation with their lives is a testament to the pinnacle of human determination, and for that we hold respectful silence.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glowm
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
