Time flies doesn't it?

Frack.

So, time to ramble. We don't really celebrate Jesusmas but most of our family does so we just go along with it. All that food and alcohol, forced cheer and festivus shoved down your throat. Great to know that we have a roof over our heads and things to gorge ourselves upon while the greater part of 2 billion people struggle to feed themselves from day to day.

I'd just like to comment on one thing: take nothing for granted. This is in part to say yes be grateful for what you have, but in a darker sense, do you have the guts to defend it? I ask because in the coming years, I give it thirty years tops, this generation will be in a rather gritty struggle for survival as overpopulation cuts significantly into the distribution cycle for our bare necessities. With the WHO estimating that as of summer 2009, 1 in 5 people on the planet is starving. Do you know what desperate people do? They resort to desperate acts, if the various incidents around the world haven't proven anything. The rift between have and have-nots has grown, not closed, in the past century. The average income difference between a labourer and boss in 1910 was roughly 1-4. In 1998, it was 1-58. I'm not sure what it is today.

So, when the river finally dries up, the garbage overflows, the shelves become bare due to civil war, will you be ready to stand and fight for your privileges? If not, those who want them will take them happily from you.

For the pessimists, this recession is a small primer for what the world can possibly face in the coming years, because if population demographics continue to stack the way they currently are, there will be implosion, and chaos.

So for the TL;DR folks, happy 2010.

Here's a tiger to keep you safe.
